A. MOURATIDOU (EUROINS): WE HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO STRENGTHEN INSURANCE CONSCIOUSNESS

Athens, 14 November 2024 – The 4th "Ioannina Insurance Conference", which Euroins Greece supported as Gold Sponsor, was successfully concluded in Ioannina.

From the podium of the conference, the General Manager of Euroins Greece, Mrs. Angeliki Mouratidou, pointed out the opportunities, but also the responsibility, involved in compulsory insurance against natural disasters, following the announcements of the State to expand the perimeter of application of the measure in the insurance sector. 

"The introduction of compulsory insurance against natural disasters for both vehicles and business properties is, of course, a step in the right direction. The aim is to cover the significant deficit that exists in insurance consciousness in Greece," Mrs. Mouratidou said, stressing, however, that "no matter how many compulsory insurance measures the State takes, they will never be enough if they are not properly utilized by insurance companies and networks." 

To this end, she believes insurance companies must offer their customers coverage that meets their needs and adequate safety for their property. At the same time, insurance intermediaries have the role of familiarizing the customer with the concepts of insurance coverage, and to highlight insurance as a shield against the financial effects of a natural disaster on their property.

Finally, Mrs. Mouratidou assured that Euroins Greece is proceeding with all the necessary actions aimed at incorporating the new measures announced by the competent bodies.

The aim of the Company, which this year completes 10 years of successful presence in Greece, is to offer insurance solutions to its customers that will respond to the new conditions that are formed today with the main threat being the climate crisis, Mrs. Mouratidou pointed out.
